As part of my duties as dean of academics + spiritual life, I took my experiences of formation and accompaniment from the Lasallian world and created a a new teammate orientation and onboarding program. The idea was to ensure that new faculty + staff felt welcomed into our community. At the same time, my hope was that they would see that academics + spiritual life are two sides of the same coin.

In collaboration with the Campus Minister, we created this program which included a series of daily mission talks on various aspects of our school mission statement. We would then explore various nuts and bolts items to help teachers both new to teaching and new to the school with tools in order to experience success in their first few weeks on the job. Then, a weekly cohort meeting which includes space for prayer, a time to address items of mutual concern, and to hear from vetereans within our community was set aside in order to continue the formation and accompaniment experience.

Here is the slide deck for the 5th and final day which was focused on reviewing the student-family and employee handbooks. Each new teammate was responsible for summarizing certain sections and presenting it to the rest of the team.
