Having been educated in and having taught in Catholic schools for most of my life, I saw a unique opportunity to ensure that our Lasallian heritage and Catholic identity were established through a series of Catholic Studies courses. Through a scope and sequence of classes that is engaging with relevant content, Catholic Studies at Cristo Rey De La Salle gives students an opportunity to explore their faith in an academically rigorous setting while being mindful of the unique lifeworld of adolescent spirituality, while allowing our students to avail of the credits necessary to enroll in a University of California school while also ensuring that we were faithful to the spirit of the so-called "Bishop’s Framework."
